“Hi! My name is Puck Legemaate. I’m a third-year Leisure & Events Management student at Breda University of Applied Sciences, and I’ll be joining VKOZ as an Event & Marketing Support intern for the coming months.
I’m someone who likes to roll up my sleeves and get things done. When I start something, I want to do it well. I enjoy learning new things, taking on challenges and continuously developing myself. I also enjoy working with others, while being equally comfortable diving into an assignment independently.
I chose to study Leisure & Events Management because of how diverse the programme is. What I enjoy most about events is creating an experience for others. From the initial idea to the final execution, you work towards something that gets people excited and gives them an experience they’ll look back on with a smile. I particularly enjoy the combination of creativity and organisation.
VKOZ immediately appealed to me because, over the past year, I specialised in business events during my studies. I’m fascinated by discovering how business events can be made surprising, innovative and truly unforgettable. At VKOZ, I also have the opportunity to learn not only more about events, but also about marketing, communication and account management.
In my free time, I get a lot of energy from sports, spending time with friends and trying new experiences. I played hockey at a high level for many years and I’m quite competitive by nature. I bring that same drive to keep developing myself to both my studies and my internship.
I’m looking forward to learning a lot over the coming months and contributing to exciting projects and events at VKOZ.”
Fun fact: I’m a true Rotterdam local! My father, aunt and I have had season tickets for Feyenoord for almost ten years, and my grandfather even played for the club. Now that I’m doing my internship in Rotterdam, I have the perfect excuse to head into the city after work!
