An international congress at a location where innovation flows—literally and figuratively. From May 25 to 28, the first edition of the Water Smart Economy & Society congress took place at the RDM Loft in Rotterdam. This initiative by TU Delft, supported by the International Water Association (IWA), brought together scientists, policymakers, businesses, and startups from around the world for four days. In the heart of the port city, the focus was on smart solutions for water management, sustainability, and technological innovation. An inspiring launch for what is intended to become an annual knowledge platform.

TU Delft had a clear vision: an open, innovative location that fosters both content and connection. VKOZ brought this vision to life. We selected the ideal venue—the industrial, light-filled RDM Loft—and added a smart event layout, including breakout rooms, an expo zone, and poster presentations. But we went beyond that. VKOZ took care of the entire logistical coordination: from hotel contracts and participant registration to atmospheric side events such as a social dinner at Courzand restaurant and a sun-drenched field trip by water taxi to the Floating Farm. All with an eye for detail and experience.

The result? A content-rich and energetic congress where connection took center stage. Thanks to a varied program of keynotes, interactive workshops, and panel discussions, space was created for real dialogue on urgent water challenges. Participants left Rotterdam not only with new insights but also with valuable connections and concrete ideas for collaboration. We look back with pride on this successful first edition and the great collaboration with TU Delft. This is exactly the type of event that energizes VKOZ—and where we add real value.
